Day 25/365 early today huh Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Fixed the speedrun timer so that it doesnt start until you move ◦ Added a ProgressMenu system Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: :tired: e Reflection Mood: 4/5 Productivity: 4/5 alright gang the plan is simple I ship tomorrow which means I have to: • Set up the save system • Find a clean way to get the time from the timer/clock, compare it with the level's speedrun time, and if it's less that the speedrun time register that level as speedrun • Make prologues for each chapter (atleast 1 prologue for one chapter) • Make those prologues unlock when you get all levels in the chapter unlocked • that's all veeeery simple ohwait this is supposed to be a reflection uhh we had relatives over today, so I was partially locked out but still managed to get 6hrs today. I really don't need to look at hours anymore cause I'm nearly over the hour threshold! Day 23/365 i feel better, must be the shower that I had in the evening yes that's a haiku btw, i think Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Implemented the Phaselock obstacle ▪︎ What's the Phaselock Obstacle? • A phase lock locks the player into a specific state (blue or gold) • A phase unlock unlocks the state change given that the state the player is in currently matches it ▪︎ Created the Grey variants of Blue and Gold Phase Locks and Phase Unlocks ▪︎ Had to finagle with a bunch of autoloads and functions ▪︎ Added a stuck animation for the phase effects - now if its a phaselock the phase indicator freezes at the bottom ◦ Implemented chapters ▪︎ After this ship (spoilers) I'm planning on adding secret prologues to each chapter that act as levels while also giving lore tidbits to the player • Unlocked if you complete each level in a chapter fast enough ◦ Some levels have really tight shortcuts to get the required times :3 ▪︎ (Very jankily) implemented the code for 4 chapters... it's all hardcoded :heavysob: • Feel free to check the gh repo :pf: ▪︎ Each chapter introduces new obstacles ▪︎ Sorted current levels into the new chapters ▪︎ Made the Game UI display them as Simulation [chapternumber].[levelnumber] (see 2nd image) ◦ Misc ▪︎ Fixed bug where the timer wasn't pausing while in the pause menu ▪︎ Made animation for the level name faster ▪︎ Added a tiny effect on the timer so it dims on player death ▪︎ Changed the death counter to say "OK" when at 0 deaths, cause i'm evil >:3 ▪︎ Created three levels - one of them is a test one that I'll delete Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: :tired:gahhh Reflection Mood: 3/5 Productivity: 4/5 not giving myself a full 5 on productivity cause I could've done more today but I woke up late + got distracted by getting the visa and booking tickets, but I did get about 6.5 hours done today I'm cautiously optimistic about getting the required time to go to overglade, but there are a few variables namely payout and whether something goes drastically wrong in the next few days that forces me to be away from my laptop for too long. Day 21/365 im like oscillating Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Made a cool effect when you switch between states ◦ Made a key-door obstacle with animations and sfx ◦ Made the level finish orb have a hover animation ◦ changed the colors of the player and the level finish orb ▪︎ Made the player's outline swap to fit the phase it is in ◦ tried to fix a bug where selecting a level from the level select doesn't update the game ui's level text, to no avail. Might be a race condition. The red door is opening because I just collected the key for it, and keys can also exist within the different phases so you have to look out for them (eg the yellow key to the botton center of the screen that opened up the blue door in the back).

Day 18/365 im so tired Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Added SFX and a SFX system ◦ Added UI to display the current level ◦ Made two levels - one significantly simpler than the other... Got some quality lock-in time in the evening though, so managed to finish some of the smaller stuff. All that's left to do is make the levels then ship the game for V1! Speaking of levels... Introducing the monstrosity known as Carousel Part 2. Half the obstacles aren't even visible. My last two braincells can't figure out how to make it work without angling the sun, which makes it practically impossible to control the player's landing. Maybe when I wake up in the morning I'll know what to do.

Day 17/365 the lock in doth come before the lock out Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Did 1 hour of work ▪︎ I was finagling around with two different audio software trying to make one of them work with Vital before I scrapped my projects on both of them, restarted on LMMS and realised there was an instrument specifically designed to import external VSTs into LMMS. Well. Hmm. ▪︎ So I gave up on music, played Cobblemon for an hour or two, then after a few spontaneous chores and stuff got back and added the pause system for my game. That's all I did. Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: :| Reflection Mood: 4/5 Productivity: 2/5 Today was NOT a productive day. The lock-in-turned-lock-out huddle was fun tho! The pause menu isn't anything too fancy, I'll prolly change it a bit later down the line. The main reason it wasn't done in like 10 minutes is because my UI is jank so I had to devise a clean way (debatable) to trigger the pause menu while pausing the game and not allowing other things (state change) to happen in that time. Work for tomorrow: audio. I'll first start with sfx, then spend the rest of the time working on game music. I think something either dark techno or something similar to the vibe of Bloxorz would fit the game.

Day 16/365 locked in so hard ong. Also, 2^4 day!!! Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Did about 6 or 7 hours of work. ▪︎ I made gold and grey versions of each obstacle, and also made multiple types of lasers scenes. ▪︎ Made 4 levels ▪︎ Got billboards working after a bunch of finagling, I needed them specifically in such a way that I can incorporate keyboard shortcuts Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: buh... Although the bean does have its charm.

Day 15/365 locked half-out? half-in? semi-locked-in? Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Did about 4 or 5 hours of work, got into the flow state during the last hours or so and finished basically all of the obstacles for my game. Now all that's left to do is make levels, cleanup the ui, add audio, and a mini tutorial. Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: guh... Reflection Mood: 3/5 Productivity: 3/5 kinda ehh day today, locked in a bit for overglade but that's about it. Was afk for a good bit. I'm continuing the habit of waking up and reading a book first thing in the morning, which is nice. Here's a screenshot of a level I made to test out all of the obstacles. I think some of them (spinner, moving platform) should be more visually distinct or indicative of its purpose, and also I should add some particle effects to the 'fan' (translucent thing) to indicate its direction but that's about it. I should also make the gold and grey variants (the core mechanic is you switch between two states [blue and gold], grey obstacles exist in both states)

Day 12/365 mfw I wrote yesterday's day as 10/365 Tasks I made progress on: • Signalbreak ◦ Added a bunch of stuff - worked on how the data flow between nodes would work, setup a SawGenerator module, designed a SignalSpec class that's basically a stack with all the primitive waves and modifiers that gets compiled when needed. And a bunch of other stuff. • Made a new T1! Technically T0 if that exists cause it's more along the lines of RP and bot interactions. #C0A85KEAZKN|! ◦ (i actually did this yesterday but shush my tiny brain forgot) Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: I KEEEP FORGETTING AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Reflection Mood: 4/5 Productivity: 3/5 Got some stuff done today! Day 10/365 me when the society Tasks I made progress on:Signalbreak ◦ Played around with godot's GraphEdit and GraphNodes, figured out connections, disabling panning, zooming, scrollbars and locked GraphNodes within the GraphEdit. Overall, much better start than the old iteration of the project. ◦ I also started cooking up some lore for it! Day 8/365 I was about to skip this day but then the alarm I set rang. Thank you, alarm. Neon Genesis is fun thooo. Also I made a proper reflection for once, catalogued some of my shower thoughts + a few more of my own on my gender identity and stuff. I think I wrote about 600-700 words (I know what you see in those numbers. I'm watching you. :suspicious_acorn:) in the span of 20-30 minutes. I hope I can continue to remember to catalog them. The whole day wasn't a waste after all :3 Posting an image of the Calendar plugin including a wordcount indicator for each daily note. For context: The first dot in the calendar for each day just means that something was written. Since I have a template for daily notes, an 'empty' note would still have words denoting its structure (headings, dataview code, etc). tl;dr it's easy to get the first dot but takes a lot of writing to get subsequent dots. Something to that effect. I should go to bed.

On the music side, I think what I'll do is force myself to choose a set of random instruments and make a song out of them. I also journaled a bunch so that is an improvement, mostly just yapping about random thoughts but I'm hoping that once I get into the flow I start tracking more deeper thoughts and stuff. day 11 of le :50days: Worked on Chordism for about 6hrs today! • (Chordism) Made an editor script and a scene to dynamically create chords (for now, no barre chords) and save them in the filesystem. • (Chordism) various miscellaneous updates to the systems and enums to work with the editor script Didn't go to the gym today, was too locked in :sweat_smile-hole: but 6hrs? skipped a day so day 10 of :50days: :noooovanish: I worked on Chordism today! It's a new project so I had to do a bunch of groundwork stuff. • (Chordism) Created a system to make Chord resources, which contain multiple chord shapes, which are just a list of notes (TODO: add barre chord handling), as well as a scene that displays a ChordResource. • (Chordism) Also made some very scuffed art assets for it :prayge: • (Chordism) Next steps would be to made a chord object that contains this chord display, and also allows the user to cycle between the chord shapes That was a lot of work I did in the span of the last 2-3 hours! This might be the project that brings me back to my 10hrs/day grind. Other than that, most of the day was spent waffling around and watching the latest episode of Critical Role :shrug3d: In other news: • Pull day! Nothing much to say except there were people using some of the machines and instead of asking them to swap between sets I did a bunch of other push and leg workouts so that I don't interact with people :heavysob:. oello its uh day 7 of :50days: i believe I decided to work on my ysuii (jk its YSWSs there was a massive conversation in confessions) (#C09QZE9D85U| and #C09TG04FFK6|) • (Bossfighting) I think i created this today or yesterday, but I started ideas on the logo design. hopefully it doesn't end up too chaotic • (Partybox) started drawing out all of the drawings from the jackbox gamenight in affinity (which i just downloaded today so a lot of the drawings are scuffed, compounding with my severe lack of drawing experience :noooovanish:) • (Partybox) redrew the mascot (partypheus) in affinity instead of aseprite this time (dk why I thought drawing it in aseprite initially would be a good idea) and it looks kinda cute In other news, • Went to the gym :exhausted: it was pull day, preacher curls are always fun tho bicep go boom • Joined some personal channels today! oh yea here's the partypheus redesign :yayayayayay: im bad at art ok lemme have this :heavysob: I guess I have to end this with something funny or deep or something uhh "Build with each other. its-a-me, day 5 of :50days: • (Not an Incremental) Added a new "Action" class with a bunch of inherited objects that you add under nodes that need them and they run specific code like obtaining some stat or purchasing something! Might merge this with the upgrade system somehow • (Not an Incremental) Added a new platform to test it. Also, made a Platform class that listens to the signal bus (added that as well) for a sign that the platform was purchased • (Not an Incremental) Basically a bunch of infra for the game. And now I'm stuck with the looming horror of designing the actual game :noooovanish: On another note: • Gym today, push day raaah • stopped listening to white noise and started listening to the alan becker lofi livestream • today was much more productive, maybe tomorrow I can actually go back to doing my regular 5hrs/day? not yet 10/day tho can't post video cause too lazy to open OBS or download a clip thingy so here's a pic of after the purchase
