Currently you can configure your own timer and while the timer is running you get visual feedback on the status + sound alerts if the phase changes. Today I wrote my very first Java code.
It wasn’t huge or complex, but the fact that I figured it out on my own made it special.
This is the beginning of my coding journey. I want to build things, break stuff, fix it again, and slowly learn what real development feels like.
Right now it’s just me, a laptop, and a lot of curiosity.

• A phase lock locks the player into a specific state (blue or gold)
• A phase unlock unlocks the state change given that the state the player is in currently matches it
▪︎ Created the Grey variants of Blue and Gold Phase Locks and Phase Unlocks
▪︎ Had to finagle with a bunch of autoloads and functions
▪︎ Added a stuck animation for the phase effects - now if its a phaselock the phase indicator freezes at the bottom
◦ Implemented chapters
▪︎ After this ship (spoilers) I'm planning on adding secret prologues to each chapter that act as levels while also giving lore tidbits to the player
• Unlocked if you complete each level in a chapter fast enough
◦ Some levels have really tight shortcuts to get the required times :3
▪︎ (Very jankily) implemented the code for 4 chapters... it's all hardcoded :heavysob:

I'm cautiously optimistic about getting the required time to go to overglade, but there are a few variables namely payout and whether something goes drastically wrong in the next few days that forces me to be away from my laptop for too long.

A lot of the day was spent preparing for the upcoming snowstorm, so I didnt do all that much. I helped code a bit on the roblox game my friendgroup was making, I made a modular system to easily add new gears and abilities as UI. I also started a hytale mini-tutorial series where i show how to make specific elements in the world gen system! First episode I showcased how to add strata lines to the generation!

Today I made a low quality hytale custom biome mod tutorial, alongside wrote a script for a better video. Had a hack club meeting!!! Today we did polygon, whilst eating grub we got from grub :D It was pretty fun but we did run over time. We ran overtime so much that we had to leave because the library closed! However my dad was talking with his boss (my dad's boss' sons attend my hackclub) and we are going to arrange a new venue, one where i wont be stressed about going over the time limit. I did not work on aces today. Oh well. You win some you lose some.

The whole day wasn't a waste after all :3
Posting an image of the Calendar plugin including a wordcount indicator for each daily note. For context: The first dot in the calendar for each day just means that something was written. Since I have a template for daily notes, an 'empty' note would still have words denoting its structure (headings, dataview code, etc). tl;dr it's easy to get the first dot but takes a lot of writing to get subsequent dots. Something to that effect. I should go to bed.

I am writing this at 12:21 AM, January 1st, 2026, which technically means that I missed my update for today, but who cares?
Today, after not getting a lot of sleep, I mostly prepared all of my goodbyes and tried to tie up loose ends. Spent much too long drafting my holy yapparonie for #C0818RRJGDA|, dropped a fragment for an ARG (:eyes_shaking:), and dmed a few people that I still have stuff to finish up with.
you know, this is my own challenge and i've only achieved 2/8 of my goals. I didn't ship Fireside, learn Rust, or finish #C09MJJV82QY|. I missed 3 days. many of my updates were nothing burgers. but maybe that's not what really mattered. maybe what did matter was coming back (mostly) every single day, trying my absolute hardest to make these 50 days count. and I think I succeeded. I made two projects that made people smile, I solved a bunch of AoC puzzles, I learned about code organization in Godot, and I kinda understand Rust now?
I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. Maybe this under-13 fiasco is just an elaborate prank. Maybe they're going to give me a few extra days here. As I write this, I'm still living in the world where my Slack account is active. I have no clue what's going to happen next - tomorrow, over these 3 months, over the next 3 years. But I'm grateful I got to hack and build during these 50 days alongside all of you.

Looking back on this now, the 11th of November seems both so recent, and such a long time ago. While I'd be lying if I said I've changed much as a person, the past 50 days have made me realise that challenges that might seem daunting or even impossible (earning my drivers licence, attending an international Hack Club event) are a lot less scary if you just set your goals and slowly and surely work your way towards them. Day. By. Day.
And of course, having a community that can encourage you and has your back makes a huge difference :)

you could say machine code is the final layer, the most basic, the most fundamental thing the computer parses
but what if you took a different approach?
PARAMATH!! the language that compiles NOT TO MACHINE CODE, but to MATH!! it uses math to approximate binary logic, which means now (at least in theory) you can run code on a scientific calculator!!
like everything i make, its a proof of concept, and this is my most recent and most proudest brainchild of all!

Yesterday was a long day of work so I was sadly not able to get much done beyond AoC but I did get a nice visualization done for day 6 as well as a visualization contributed by one of my friends jasper which looks amazing!
Over the last couple of days I've been refining a script to take incoming college emails which are mostly spam and filter out just the important ones.
