you've seen the lanyard.cnrad.dev discord status embed generator thing. its cool, you can embed your discord profile into your website. yay! but what about your hackclub slack profile..? to my knowledge nobody made such a thing yet... hi! i made slacktivity!! its a slack bot (hello @slacktivityspy )/api that lets you generate live svgs/pngs of your profile, and supports embedding everywhere!! even in this very slack post (although slack cdn caching wont make the preview live-updated unless you click on it) heres the github, the api docs are in there somewhere. to get started, you can try /slacktivity-help and /slacktivity-register, then /slacktivity-preview!! hope you have fun using it, i definitely had fun making it. 14h 25m acc. to hackatime as of post! made for #C07UZSKJQRX, with <3 from @revi & the Icarus Alliance (+ Kai) (p.s. its hosted on nest, so it may be kinda slow. apawlogies!!)

Day 131 / 365 My summer starts today but its probably going to take a while before everything settles down. Did a psych test and public speaking speech. so now im finally done!! yippee!!! so i lowkey just played for the rest of the day. I ate a celebratory dessert at a mexican resturant. this is sorta a tradition my family has been doing since I first started doing dual enrollment lol. Anwyhom I worked on my horizons game for an hour, I added a cool enemy trigger system where if you enter an area it will make all its child nodes visible and processing. this works for walls as well to box players in. I wanna lock in tommorow (and hopefully my horizons ship from 7 days ago will be accepted lol!!)

hihi! i made my own ssh client in rust! (partially while in a huddle with @oodlia ju)! i implemented all the crypto math myself (i did not just import some off the shelf ssh library). this is pretty much the first rust project i have made. it was kinda hard because when you get the math wrong you don't get a friendly "hey you got this math wrong" and the compiler/debugger doesnt help, you just get a "connection closed" from the server and that could mean anything what do you think?

Day 130 / 365 HELLOOO MY BEAUTIFUL AND AWESOME SCRAPBOOK POST READERS!! kaplin here. Today i got to sleep in! its been a while since i did that lol. Spent most of my day working on school to prepare for my final speech and psychology test tommorow. Also worked on getting that team project done for computer science. we got it done, with only 9 minutes to spare (submitted at 11:50 pm). i edited video for it since that was one of the requirements. I didnt work on my horizons game today sadly though :C anyways im going to go sleep i need to wake up early tommorow!! this is also why the doodle today is very basic i wanna go to bed

I am making a recipe website on Git Hub, I have only made one website before.. the tutorial in Macondo.. I'm really new to coding but I love the idea of learning how to, mostly because I want to be able to code and understand code. I'm so excited! Day 129 / 365 Today was very chill. I held a hackclub meeting. I got a bunch of bars from my last meeting since that was the prize. Candy bars would have worked, but I felt granola bars would be fun. The idea is that the bars look like the bricks in a brick breaker. how cute! Since I wasnt really able to find any workshops that were all that immediate interest (and plus for the first week after my last meeting i had bigger fish to fry lowkey), I sorta made my own workshop on the fly lol. We continued 3d modeling from my meeting on day 87. Instead of making a house, we made a car and then made a driveway for our houses, then added the car. Once I got home from my meeting, I got to work on the computer science group project... tommorow I have to get it done because its due, and maybe since its the day its due my teammates will do something!!!!! on my horizons game i spent an hour making a status effect system. Seems to work pretty well with a basic slowness effect.

Day 128 / 365 Forgot to mention in my other post that my aces game got moved over to horizons, but its probably going to be a minute before i work on it to get it into a shippable state. Im thinking of what I want to do next for it. Lowkey im considering a rebrand, since my dad a while back made a comment on the fact I chose a generally occult theming, and now i feel a bit uncomfortable with keeping that. I really shouldnt let his opinions sway my artistic visions but its sorta hard not do, given hes my father. anywhom today I was a bit busy with school and some other stuff. For example I was trying to drive my brother to his swim practice, but due to the traffic, he was going to be so late that me, him, and my dad decided that he should just skip it. we did, then we ate at an italian resturant we havent had in a long while. Good times. I worked on my horizons game a bit, I updated the inventory system so it actually uses up items. I think im going to try and add status effects next. Lowkey not excited for tommorow, even though I have a hack club meeting. I have to wake up early to drive my brother to one of the swim things, and I have to lock in on a final group project for computer science, since my teammates are doing NOTHING bro. its due IN TWO DAYS. this is the FINAL PROJECT. and I NEED AN A 😭 PLEASE. anyways thank you for reading have a good day 😇

Day 127 / 365 Where do i even begin. I will start with non hackclub stuff. I went to a banquet for the honors college thing at my community college. I will be honest I really dont know what it was about. Me and my little brother had to leave early since after that we had tutoring at the local church. I didnt have to participate since I was studying for test that I really gotta do good on. Now onto the hackclub stuff. Worked on my horizons game, adding in proper ui for the inventory. Jared, the hack club club operations lead, saw one of my earlier scrapbook posts (day 115) about my custom workshop i did with my club and really liked it. He reached out, and there may or may not be a certain official ysws coming to a hack club near you. Also possibly a certain post inside the club leaders newsletter. I say maybe because a lot of things can happen in life lol. Maybe aliens visit and steal all the computers. Hope that doesnt happen!

Day 126 / 365 Hi guys, kaplin here. Today I worked a bit more on my horizons game, adding in a item pickup system and a inventory system. I also went out of my way today to watch some game design videos, because i figure that if i want to become a good game designer, im going to need to learn how to do good game design. I will report back if I find anything thats very good. Who knows maybe I will do game design tips i find everyday alongside my doodles... nevermind thats too much studying. Speaking of my doodles of my main oc pfp guy, my friend is drawing all of our main ocs as EEEVILLLLLL alternate universe variants, and he drew mine today and it looks really good!! oh also cookie run kingdom update came out with time balance department characters, which tbd was my favorite storyline in cookie run ovenbreak so im very happy they are coming to kingdom!!!

Day 125 / 365 125 is such a interesting number. well. maybe important is a more fitting word. I think that 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 are all important numbers, but funnily enough I believe that 12.5, 15, and 17.5 are less important. Tangent aside, today was fairly good! I went to the dentist to get a cavity fixed up. Then I took a nap 😇 I studied a good bit for my psychology since I have a test tommorow. I worked on my horizons project for 1 hour and 45 minutes. In this time I added a simple player ui, a small corner popup system for later, melee enemy ai, pathfinding, and for more technical changes I did some reworking to make enemies and players share an attackable class, which supports an infinite (integer limit) amount of teams. This also meshes nicely with my bullet system, so now bullets can be used for other teams / enemies. rather than the typical 1 character doodle there are two attached for this post. last scrapbook post i accidentally uploaded the wrong image layer so you werent able to see the full thing.

Day 124 / 365 Homework is an enemy. Do not let your guard down. I did. I had an assignment where I had to "create a outline" for my final speech for public speaking. Since that was a simple thing, I saved it for today, the day it was due. Turns out I also needed to make a presentation, cite multiple sources (which werent needed in previous speeches this class), and even do a audience analysis (which i dont even know how to format). I managed to do all that over the span of 8 hours. It was pretty late when I finished so i didnt code much. I added a quick system that automatically adds a range-of-detection for all enemy (and all deriving classes). I prefer having it autocreate that rather than me manually making a node in the enemy scene for every enemy. For now, I just made it look at the player when they get close. Man i accidentally copies the wrong layer for my doodle so now on the scrapbook website is wrong and it wont let me edit it 😭 scrapbook readers you will see the doodle tommorow ig

Day 123 / 365 Today is day 1 2 3!!! easy as a b c!!! yaaaaaay!!! anyways todya was a bit less amazing than yesterday but still pretty good. I got my horizons game to properly show the factory builder ui while in the player view. It even pauses all the physics and movement and enemy stuff too. I made a test zone using a grid map and made some test enemies. The bullets are synced to the factory :) Shipped my first demo for horizons!! Lowkey a tad bit worried since I have 9 hours tracked, but playing the game, it doesnt FEEL like 9 hours were spent. last thing I want is being suspected for fraud :c A demo link can be found in my personal slack channel, since I dont want the whole world to see this one just yet lol

I built Learnify. i vibe coded nearly the entire thing, but i just wanted to learn the ins and outs of stripe for my next project. It is like duolingo, but with ai curriculum for anything you could think of. SAT prep, geometry, music theory, javascript, etc. it's not perfect in any way, but as i said earlier i just wanted to ship something. It’s web only right now because i didn't even think about paying app store fees. It's live at learnify.studio if you want to check it out.

Day 122 / 365 Today was amazing! My parents and brother were out of town so i was completely unbothered most of the day!! yay!!! I worked 3 hours on my horizons game. I switched to godot nodes but I got my system to fully work! You can connect, disconnect, delete, and add nodes and it properly adds it. I also found a good way to define nodes using resources. And to top it all off, I also got the actual processing part done, so now I can input an item into the factory layout and get the outputs ! Tommorow I will work on getting a more seamless popup to go to the factory menu while controlling the player character. Might even spend a bit of time trying to format godots graph system to be more stylized.

You! You're a human right? So you probably don't need this project, but maybe some apps that you built do! I’m Akaalroop and I’ve… never touched or built a backend in my life but I like Rust, so I decided to try it out! I built an API which converts words: like “seven hundred and forty-three” to numbers your app can use, like 743! As you can imagine the logic for doing that isn't too difficult, but it was the API itself that took most of the time. Setting up a parser, receiving requests, returning errors or responses, dealing with incorrect data, etc. All without a single framework or parser library used! And I used no AI either! Started making my game for Macondo! I'm making a cross-platform app for families and friends to play! I plan to include stuff like tic-tac-toe, battleship, connect 4, snake and ladders, ludo and all kinds of stuff. (Even with multiplayer integration, but for now im sticking for one device playables! Plus I'm designing all assets by myself as they are relatively easy!

Day 121 / 365 Today was great! Me and a friend of mine played the Create: Aeronautics addon for the create mod for minecraft (i love mods of mods!!) and we goofed off a lot lol. Worked a bit on my horizons game by starting to work on the factory node system. Its very unpolished, but I think it might do the trick. Tommorow I will try to add not-hardcoded-node-connecting and actually processing the factory nodes for immediate input -> outputs.
