Day 2 (119/365): • woke up early, did some exercise (push-ups still feel really hard lowkey) • built my first slack bot using bolt in py, basically auto updates the date for #C0A63BZ2AQN, docs were kinda confusing but I managed to figure it out(took my morning) • realized I need hosting for it and found Hack Club Nest which might solve it, will deploy tmrw • worked on face-to-anime project but it’s way harder than I thought, so I shifted into learning C to work with opengl and get some low level taste(will do c++ and assembly as well) • watched this video about how computers actually work and it honestly blew my mind as how simple it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZwneRb-zqA • had focus issues because of Minecraft Bedwars distractions for too many days, so I decided to stop playing it for a month, if i do, i wont code neither use computer for a week and just study • didn’t finish the chapter today but will tomorrow • planning to start this book from tomorrow as i wanna know how computer actually works: Enjoy: 2/5 Productivity: 1/5 Study: No Coding: Yes(2hr 21m) So no game this time fr. Day 117 / 365 I liked today, today was good. I worked a bit more on that minecraft modpack team stuff, mostly just fixing up tags and setting up item restrictions, all that jazz. BUT i did do something actually cool today! I started work on my hack club horizons project. Im going to be making a game called "Router Rebellion". The core idea is an topdown action rpg where the main gimmick is you create your own bullets in a sort of node-graph system. Ive been thinking about this game idea for a good while and have come up with some insane worldbuilding for it. No spoilers >:3 If you notice a slight similarity to my long term project (one turret) (wishlist on steam wink wink nudge nudge), then you would be correct in your assumption. The factory-that-creates-bullets-that-the-user-uses-as-a-weapon element in the game idea actually stems a LONG time ago when I was first making one turret and was considering what I wanted to make. After 2 years im finally using the idea! I only actually worked on the game for 1 hour today, but I got some pretty good player and camera movement going. Should also support controller if i set up the godot stuff right, will check later. I also improved the shader im using from a few days ago to replicate my 2d style for this horizons project.

Day 116 / 365 Today I locked in quite a bit. Since its been a while since I worked on that modpack stuff, I started working on that again. I was starting to feel bad from not contributing, given that its entirely a team effort. I also applied for hack club stardance ambassador. In this role you put up posters and host meetups locally for the upcoming stardance program. I applied since I can drive, and plus I love hack club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im also considering on starting my horizons project. Ive been thinking about some really cool world building, but I also wonder if im perhaps biting off more than i can chew... oh well! speaking of biting and chewing i also got to try some limited time krispy kreme donuts that go away soon it was really yummy wow. and and and and i ALSO got some cool github stuff from haxmas.

Day 115 / 365 Today was very nice! I had a hackclub meeting! feels refreshing given my last one was 28 DAYS AGO 😭 anyways we held my custom workshop stuff (that i did through #C0AE5L0N70Q go check it out if your a club leader) and we did go over the time by an hour like always. It was fine, since this time the library was fully booked (and has barely any availability for the summer), so we actually just held it at a church instead. My 2 hackclub members, both of whom are brothers if your curious, go to this church and their family is like a core member of that community or something like that. either way we were able to use the empty building for the meeting. it went really good! everyone was able to turn in a brick breaker game in 3 hours. Even my brother joined in, which is rare. I think the reason it took 3 instead of 2 was because I gave a lot of indepth information about godot and such. After that I went bowling! and I did all this while wearing one of my favorite shirts, my kirby gradient shirt thing (check attached image) so overall good day :)

Day 100 / 365 It is day 100! 27% into the year. Lets do a slight recap! Major things i did: • Made most of my aces game • Bought hytale and got into modding immediately • Made a small roblox game with friends • Finally published one turret on steam • Attending a hackathon (hackclub campfire) • Made a game for ceiling seal ysws • Made a project ysws (which i was going to host tommorow but all my club members said they are out of town) Things that I still have left to do from my original list in the slack thread: • Get One Turret "Polish Update" out • Host a hackclub ysws (I mean a full scale online one) • Learn and do a bit more about hardware • Make a library/tool/extension to/for something Anyways for my actual day today. I went to court. Not for anything bad lol, I had to go to court to get my full drivers license! yippee! But actually it was kinda cool since we have always drove by the big courthouse frequently ever since i was a little kaplin86 and i finally got to see the inside!

3 April 2026, Friday, Day *93/365. Day 91 / 365 Hello guys. Today. I shall be quitting computer stuff to persue my true dream of baking. rather than my youtube name being kaplin86gamer it will now be kaplin86baker. i made a good debut video on how to make a pie thing. you should watch it. hack club do not smite me for advertisement. please. anyways one turret april fools i tried to draw some anime character version of the bullets in the game. No wonder i barely draw humans 😭 still got work to do so i guess update will be sometime this week idk. (also the baking stuff was april fools if that wasnt obvious enough)

Day 87 / 365 Today I had a hackclub meeting! I uh sorta had to wing it again since i didnt have any material planned, so I followed this cute village tutorial on jams.hackclub.com with my club. It actually turned out really good! Though another thing was for some reason the library was double booked and had a big lego event happening in the room i had scheduled, so my club got moved to the library's giant auditorium! wasnt the best since it made it harder to move to my members to help them. I also played around with hytale world gen today. i think i figured out rivers, and its painfully simple (subtracting a constant number from the density lowers it a few blocks, so i just do that to apply the river physically using noise, then fill it by replacing air in a certain density with water). Only issue is that it is far from realistic, but it might make a good tutorial later. infact i should probably redo my hytale tutorials since a handful of things have changed.

flavortown project 😄 so am makning a bot for the hack club streaming platform! hackclub.tv i have worked on making env work so i dont hard code it a coinflip cmd! and a random zach latta quote command using a old api made “zapi-seven.vercel.app/quote/random” where i also had to find out how to make it not be the same quote everytime but i found out i could just put it in the @bot.command and then it loads the api everytime and gives a new one :D i also made sum boring debuging like when it goes on the channel it prints 67 and a simple ?ping cmd that just says its on buddy and prints for logs this is made using a vibe coded wrapper i made .D github.com/christianwell/hctvwrapper

Days 31-34/365: - The calculator works I guess, I put it back together since there's no point in using only half of a perfectly good calculator - Learned a bit more about electrical engineering at my afterschool robotics club (of which EE hasn't met in months)! Came home with 7 severed USB-A heads yesterday (nobody else wanted them) Some goals for February: - Ship 2 Flavortown games (including the one I'm already working on) - Finish my macropad - Put up more Flavortown posters at my school - Get up to day 40 of Onshape

Day 29/365 I made it so my game's steamworkshop uploader can now update pre-existing mods! It also properly uploads images (assuming the mod has an icon). I talked with my club members online and we got polygon submitted :D

Day 17/365 Today I made a low quality hytale custom biome mod tutorial, alongside wrote a script for a better video. Had a hack club meeting!!! Today we did polygon, whilst eating grub we got from grub :D It was pretty fun but we did run over time. We ran overtime so much that we had to leave because the library closed! However my dad was talking with his boss (my dad's boss' sons attend my hackclub) and we are going to arrange a new venue, one where i wont be stressed about going over the time limit. I did not work on aces today. Oh well. You win some you lose some.

Day 16/365 I published my hytale mod from yesterday onto curseforge, and it already has 100 downloads!! Most of the day I was playing around with hytale lol (And doing irl stuff). I also started work on my first draft for the hackclub magazine! Tommorow after my club meeting im going to try and lock in on aces. If I dont have 30 hours in by the time my classes start on monday im gonna be worried!

okay so wait knowing this is my thing, i also lowk have to participate! this week we hosted a hackathon called atlânticoHacks! those were some fun 24h :D also, me and my co-leader spoke in front of over 40 principals of the best schools in the EU :rac_woah: to talk about Hack Club and the hackathons we've hosted! next week, we're perhaps hosting a giveaway of a laptop?? :3

Day 50: The final day! • Nearly finished w/ adding devlogging to Milkyway Pets. All that remains is to make the submit button work :yay-mimi: • Parent call for Overglade! My parents are mostly okay with my going, which is good because I'm planning to get the ticket within the next ~2 days :hyperfastyay: • Messaged my friends about meeting up in the new year. Looking back on this now, the 11th of November seems both so recent, and such a long time ago. While I'd be lying if I said I've changed much as a person, the past 50 days have made me realise that challenges that might seem daunting or even impossible (earning my drivers licence, attending an international Hack Club event) are a lot less scary if you just set your goals and slowly and surely work your way towards them. Day. By. Day. And of course, having a community that can encourage you and has your back makes a huge difference :) I'm probably gonna do a proper writeup sometime in the next week, but until then you can find me chipping away at my goals over in #C09PQFWEC8N|. sup fellas another day another chapter of termoslack so the basic app functions are working nicely also implemented the image system in the app but theres a catch it is using real slack to show images and that's not a bad thing but i really want to make it completely independent but lets if i can make it happen and also i changed the termoslack theme to a bit darker which is good for your eyes and started working on customizations and also started to implement the search hack club function and till tomorrow you will be able to join channels directly from termoslack and maybe an activity section soon (its a bit hard and can cause performance issues) but lets see andddd I also need some testers if you are interested please dm me to get the file and also I need to host it somewhere for authentication here are few screenshots for this commit:

day 11! uh didn't get much done today either ~~because i was catching up on s4 of stranger things~~ but i did do some research on a new project idea, called mixtape. what if you gave an AI access to a strudel.cc workspace and asked it to give me some background music for working? no code yet so here's my hack club ai dashboard :p

50 days challenge ❄️ Daily update <#C07TTG7NVPX|> | Streak: 8 days! Still sick, but I was able to get more accomplished today... Productive stuff I did for my goals • Edited a video I helped film and put together of a cultural celebration at my school and finalized it for posting on social media! • Planned application to a fun summer program. • Did a batch of calculus problems --- my math notes Google Doc hit 100 pages :0 • Did two practice exams in preparation for my chemistry midterm! That's 40 full-length problems across 100 minutes :3 (attached is a photo of some of my random scratch paper) • Went to my chemistry lab practical today, it went well! I got 100% on the post-lab assessment • Got caught up on some stuff in Hack Club • Uploaded news articles to a site and designed Instagram posts for a small news publication I help edit for! Nice stuff • I was checking university major requirements and found that on top of my existing reqs for engineering (which I know for sure I'm going to do) I just need to take 1 more class for a mathematics minor and 3 more classes for a mathematics major... should I do it to flex bruh (math is my least favorite subject but I find it funny and possibly a valuable degree)

:50days: *day 8/50* more work on README! spent a while scrolling through old event photos and scrubbing through Hack Club videos to make this little Polaroid collage thingy for README's homepage. also made some CSS fixes and wrote some more content. I think tomorrow I'll add table of contents stuff and some style settings, then deploy so others can start writing

Hey everyone! Something really cool happened yesterday! Want to hear about it? I hope so, because I'm going to say it either way! I went to a local hackathon called Island Hacks which is hosted every year. I went to this same hackathon in September 2024, and had such a good time I looked for more hackathons, which eventually led me to discover Hack Club! It was basically the point when I stopped doing beginner courses and really started to code regularly and actually make projects. I've grown so much since then, from growing my html and (basically nonexistent) css and js skills to coding 100 hours on one project for #Juice, and designing PCBs in KiCad to running my own club with @Slloom , and so much more. I can't say I owe it all to Island Hacks - more organizations and people have been part of my journey than I can count - but it was definitely part of the start of it all. Anyway, I can tell more of my story later. Right now, I want to talk about yesterday's Island Hacks. It started at 9am with breakfast and a three-to-a-team puzzle/riddle thing through google form. I joined up with two girls named Amelia and Aria who were sitting at my table. After the first team completed it, they announced the theme: Make something that solves a problem of someone in your life. Both Amelia and Aria had never really coded before, so we stayed for the beginner's workshop that immediately followed. By the time it finished, we had a solid idea of what our project would be: A website that generates icebreaker questions to help you get to know someone. At the end of the day, we presented our website, and waited while the judges deliberated. And then something entirely unexpected happened. We won the Judges Choice Award!!! I never would have expected us to win. The project was certainly much better than the project my team had made last year, but there were a ton of cool projects this year - which I suppose makes the win even sweeter :) With that, let me just say a huge thank you to the Island Hacks team. They worked so hard to put this on, and I would highly recommend attending next year if you live in the bay area (find them at island-hacks.org). And of course, a shoutout to my amazing team. Our project would have not been possible without them: Aria did all the art, Amelia helped with function design and created the questions (60+ of them!), and I did most of the programming. They were both so much fun to work with! Have you ever struggled to really connect with someone?

In my family, we often have the problem of not knowing what kinds of questions to ask each other. We want to actually learn more about one another, but are too often faced with distraction or a lack of ideas. We want something that will be fun and actually tell us more. 

That's why we created our website, Break the Ice.

The purpose of this website is to provide a fun and engaging way to get to know other people, through asking the right questions.

 Our website generates questions in three levels. Basic questions, which help you learn about what's on the surface of a person, Mid-level questions, which offer ways to dive deeper and begin to understand them, and Deep questions, which provide thought provoking prompts to help grasp their core beliefs and identity.

Anyone can search up a list of "Get to know you questions" but wouldn't you rather have a website dedicated to their curation, with a fun command-on-click user experience? I sure would. We hope this website inspires more connection between people, without the barrier of brain fog.

If you take one thing away from this, go to a hackathon! They can be so much fun and they allow you to connect with people with similar interests who you might not otherwise meet. Anyway, thanks for reading! There was also a speaker panel, so I might post the advice I learned from that. Keep an eye out!

Yo Hack Club! 😎 So I hopped into the 50-Day Challenge with a couple of goals that I really wanna lock in before the year ends, and honestly… it’s been going well so far. My goals are: 1. To build a solid robotics team at my school. 2. Make better use of GitHub and jump into more collab projects 3. Level up my web dev skills + overall tech stack And today I’m hyped to share a little win: I just crossed 400 GitHub contributions! Slowly building that clean-looking contribution graph, one commit at a time 😌 This whole 50-Day Challenge is kinda my way of squeezing the most out of the last stretch of the year learning, building, and having fun with it.
